Advanced water treatment technology

Mitsubishi Chemical Cleansui Corporation

Water treatment is an urgent need worldwide which requires advanced technologies using filter membranes. In 1970, Mitsubishi Chemical Cleansui is the first corporation in the world developing the hollow fiber membrane technology. From a superfine polyethylene material, super thin filtration fibers were created. The inside of fibers was processed using high technology by roundly heating at high temperatures and prolonging the filament winding process without using the solvent, ensuring the safety and the cleanliness of drinking water after filtered. The hollow fiber membrane features perforated tubes with tiny holes, and water goes through the sidewall of the tubes with size ranging from 0.01 to 0.1 micrometers.
STRONG FILTERING CAPABILITIES
The sidewalls of hollow fiber membrane can remove the minute particles up to 0.01 micrometers in tap water.

REMOVAL OF CRYPTOSPORIDIUM
Cryptosporidium size is about 4 to 5 microns. By penetrating the digestive tract, it can cause fever, acute diarrhea, etc. The disinfection using chlorine at waterworks can not eliminate this bacterium.

CROSS- SECTION DIAGRAM OF THE MEMBRANE
This figure shows a cross-section diagram of the membrane. The outer surface of the hollow fibers is at right, and the inner surface, at left. In the actual filtration scheme, the water would flow from the outer to the inner surface, as indicated by the arrow. Bacteria and other microparticles are unable to pass through the interstices in the slit-like membrane microstructures. They will be trapped on the outer surface and layers close to it, and so will be unable to enter the membrane.

WATER FLOW THROUGH HOLLOW MEMBRANES
Water is filtered by this way, reaching the inner from the outer surface of the membrane through millions of holes on surface

Certification

Water filtered by Cleansui water purifiers is tested in Vietnam and certified by the competent authorities
(QCVN 06-1:2010/BYT).
